EKFB is proud to have been appointed by HS2 to deliver civil engineering works across an 80km section of the new high‑speed rail link between the Chiltern Tunnel and Long Itchington Wood. We are looking for a Land Surveyor to join our team based in Buckingham. In this role, you will support the Senior Land Surveyor in establishing and maintaining the site survey control network to report and validate different construction stages.
Responsibilities
- Perform land, topographic, hydrographic and measured building surveys using specialist equipment such as robotics, 3D scanners and GNSS receivers.
- Analyse survey data with plans, maps, charts and software including AutoCAD, Trimble Business Centre, StarNet, N4ce, Leica Infinity and GIS programs.
- Prepare survey drawings with the Senior Land Surveyor and present data to clients, writing detailed reports.
- Coordinate with Site Engineers and the construction team on project priorities, implementation, plan changes, deviations, unusual activities and non‑conformance rectification work.
- Set out and conduct as‑built surveys, carry out topographical and engineering surveys using laser scanners, manage registration and post‑processing of point‑cloud data, and oversee drone flight surveys.
- Execute GNSS network surveying, precise traversing, and precise levelling to maintain primary survey control.
Qualifications
- HND or degree in Land Survey, Geomatics or an equivalent field.
- Experience in a similar survey role.
- Excellent knowledge of Trimble and Leica total stations, levels (Leica LS15) and GNSS receivers.
- Strong AutoCAD skills for producing 2D and 3D drawings.
- Proficiency with survey software such as Trimble Business Centre, StarNet, N4ce and Leica Infinity.
- GVC Drone qualification.
- Experience preparing survey‑related Method Statements and Risk Assessments (desirable).
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Solid report writing and compilation skills.
Additional Requirements
- Valid driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential.
- CSCS card is essential.
