EK Outreach Services is a specialist provider of one-to-one teaching for students who are unable to access mainstream school environments due to medical, emotional, or learning difficulties. We work with students who have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), providing individualised support to meet their specific learning needs. Our goal is to offer high-quality education, giving students the tools and confidence to succeed despite the challenges they face in traditional educational settings.
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Teacher to deliver one-to-one lessons to students with diverse needs, including those with SEND. In this role, you will have the opportunity to teach and support students who are unable to attend mainstream schooling, helping them engage with studies through tailored and accessible lessons. Lessons may take place in students' homes, libraries, or other agreed-upon locations.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver individualised lessons that are aligned with the student's academic level and learning objectives.
- Teach key concepts, theories, and research methods in preparation for GCSE or equivalent level exams.
- Promote subject understanding, engagement and motivation in students.
- Remain patient and flexible in the approach to learning by adapting lesson content and teaching methods to support students with SEND and other learning challenges.
- Track and assess student progress, providing regular feedback to students, parents, and staff.
- Possess excellent communication skills, and be able to work collaboratively with pastoral teams to ensure holistic support for each student.
- Maintain thorough records of lessons and progress in line with educational requirements.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or significant experience teaching.
- Experience working with SEND students is highly desirable.
- Excellent knowledge of specific curriculums and related topics, such as: English, Maths, Science, Health and Social Care, Cooking, Computer Science.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire students in a one-to-one setting.
- Flexibility to work in various locations, including students' homes or other designated learning environments.
- A valid DBS check (or willingness to undergo one).
