Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Youth Mentor to support the delivery of one-to-one lessons to students with diverse needs, including those with SEND. In this role, you will help students who are unable to attend mainstream schooling, engaging them with tailored and accessible lessons. Lessons may take place in students' homes, libraries, or other agreed-upon locations. A strong interest in sports and sport education is desirable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish meaningful connections with students.
  • Provide academic assistance and help children build confidence and reach their full potential.
  • Support students with PSHE, Life Skills, RSE and AQA Award Units learnings.
  • Foster a positive and motivating learning environment.
  • Act as a role model and mentor for personal development.
  • Possess excellent communication skills and collaborate with pastoral teams to ensure holistic support for each student.
  • Maintain thorough records of lessons and progress in line with the organisation's requirements.

Requirements

  • Experience working with SEND students is highly desirable.

  • A valid DBS check (or willingness to undergo one).
