EK Outreach Services is a specialist provider of one‑to‑one teaching for students who are unable to access mainstream school environments due to medical, emotional, or learning difficulties.
We work with students who have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), providing individualised support to meet their specific learning needs.
Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Art Teacher to deliver one‑to‑one lessons to students with diverse needs, including those with SEND.
Lessons may take place in students’ homes, libraries, or other agreed‑upon locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver individualised Art lessons aligned with each student’s academic level and learning objectives.
- Teach a range of topics at GCSE or equivalent levels, promoting understanding, engagement and motivation.
- Adapt lesson content and teaching methods to support students with SEND and other learning challenges.
- Track and assess student progress, providing regular feedback to students, parents and staff.
- Maintain thorough records of lessons and progress in line with educational requirements.
- Work collaboratively with pastoral teams to ensure holistic support for each student.
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or significant experience teaching Art.
- Experience teaching GCSE Art with a focus on Photography.
- Experience working with SEND students (highly desirable).
- Experience teaching a variety of exam boards, with an Arts Therapy approach (desirable).
- Excellent knowledge of the Art curriculum and related topics.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire students in a one‑to‑one setting.
- Flexibility to work in various locations, including students’ homes or other designated learning environments.
- A valid DBS check (or willingness to undergo one).
