Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced SEND teacher to deliver one‑to‑one lessons to students with diverse needs. Lessons may take place in students' homes, libraries, or other agreed‑upon locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver individualized lessons that are aligned with the student's academic level and learning objectives.
- Teach a range of topics at Primary or equivalent levels.
- Promote understanding, engagement and motivation in students.
- Remain patient and flexible in the approach, adapting lesson content and teaching methods to support students with SEND and other learning challenges.
- Track and assess student progress, providing regular feedback to students, parents and staff.
- Possess excellent communication skills and work collaboratively with pastoral teams to ensure holistic support for each student.
- Maintain thorough records of lessons and progress in line with educational requirements.
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or significant experience teaching Primary subjects from the National Curriculum.
- Experience in KS1 and KS2 Primary Curriculum.
- Experience working with SEND students is highly desirable.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to the needs of the student and build a positive learning environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire students in a one‑to‑one setting.
- Flexibility to work in various locations, including students' homes or other designated learning environments.
- A valid DBS check (or willingness to undergo one).
