Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Psychology Teacher to deliver one-to-one lessons to students with diverse needs, including SEND. Lessons are typically 2 hours per week and may take place in students' homes, libraries, or other agreed locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver individualized Psychology lessons aligned with the student’s academic level and learning objectives.
- Teach key psychological concepts, theories, and research methods in preparation for GCSE or equivalent level exams.
- Promote psychological understanding, engagement, and motivation in students.
- Remain patient and flexible, adapting lesson content and teaching methods to support students with SEND and other learning challenges.
- Track and assess student progress, providing regular feedback to students, parents, and staff.
- Maintain thorough records of lessons and progress in line with educational requirements.
- Collaborate with pastoral teams to ensure holistic support for each student.
Qualifications
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or significant experience teaching Psychology.
- Experience delivering GCSE Psychology.
- Experience working with SEND students is desirable.
- Excellent knowledge of the Psychology curriculum and related topics.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage and inspire students in a one-to-one setting.
- Flexibility to work in various locations, including students’ homes.
- A valid DBS check (or willingness to undergo one).
