Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Film Studies Teacher to deliver one-to-one lessons to students with diverse needs, including those with SEND. In this role, you will have the opportunity to teach and support students who are unable to attend mainstream schooling, helping them engage with Film Studies through tailored and accessible lessons. Lessons may take place in students' homes, libraries, or other agreed-upon locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver individualised Film Studies lessons that are aligned with the student's academic level and learning objectives.
- Teach a range of topics at GCSE, A-Level, or equivalent levels.
- Adapt lesson content and teaching methods to support students with SEND and other learning challenges.
- Track and assess student progress, providing regular feedback to students, parents, and staff.
- Work collaboratively with pastoral teams to ensure holistic support for each student.
- Maintain thorough records of lessons and progress in line with educational requirements.
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or significant experience teaching Film Studies.
- Experience teaching GCSE and/or A-Level Film Studies is essential.
- Experience working with SEND students is highly desirable.
- Excellent knowledge of Film Studies curriculum and related topics.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire students in a one-to-one setting.
