EK Outreach Services is a specialist provider of one-to-one teaching for students who are unable to access mainstream school environments due to medical, emotional, or learning difficulties. We work with students who have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), providing individualised support to meet their specific learning needs. Our goal is to offer high-quality education, giving students the tools and confidence to succeed despite the challenges they face in traditional educational settings.
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Youth Mentor to support the delivery of one-to-one lessons to students with diverse needs, including those with SEND. In this role, you will have the opportunity to support students who are unable to attend mainstream schooling, helping them engage with their studies through tailored and accessible lessons. Lessons may take place in students' homes, libraries, or other agreed-upon locations. This role requires a driving license and access to a car.
Key Responsibilities:- Establish meaningful connections with students.
- Provide academic assistance along with helping children build confidence and reach their full potential.
- Support students with PSHE, Life skills, RSE and AQA Award Units learnings.
- Foster a positive and motivating learning environment.
- Act as a role model and mentor for personal development.
- Possess excellent communication skills, and be able to work collaboratively with pastoral teams to ensure holistic support for each student.
- Maintain thorough records of lessons and progress in line with the organisation's requirements.
- Experience working with SEND students is highly desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire students in a one-to-one setting.
- Flexibility to work in various locations, including students' homes or other designated learning environments.
- A valid DBS check (or willingness to undergo one).
