About the Role
As the Merchandising Manager - Sales, you will be responsible for leading the sales merchandising team in managing customer orders through delivery, while supporting the Sales Managers. You will ensure that the Sales Merchandising Team provides best-in-class service standards to our customers as well as internal departments. Additionally, you will support the Sales Director by managing assigned key customers, serving as their first point of contact, and establishing strong working relationships with Buyers, Merchandisers, and Logistics teams of key accounts.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership & Development: Lead, support, train, and guide the Sales Merchandisers to ensure they fulfill their job descriptions, meet their development needs, and work effectively and efficiently.
- Management Reporting: Establish and manage required reporting for customer meetings, customer management, and budget management. Provide the necessary training for your team to manage these reports for their individual customers and Sales Managers.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Liaise with the Senior Sales Manager to report and update the Sales Director on the running of the Sales Team. Offer strategic recommendations to maintain the smooth running of the department in line with business objectives.
- Cross-functional Communication: Work closely with department heads to ensure relevant customer requirements and standards are clearly and effectively communicated within the business.
- Stock & Critical Path (CP) Management: Lead customer-facing CPs on Orrsum stock orders to ensure goods arrive on time to meet budget requirements and stock customer expectations.
- Commercial Awareness: Maintain a deep understanding of the customer base and the market to assist the Sales Team in meeting business budgets and profit margins.
Requirements
- Strong fashion background, with a distinct preference for experience within similar product categories such as Hosiery, Underwear, Loungewear, or related apparel industries.
- Proven track record of successfully managing complex projects from initial inception through to final completion and delivery.
- Demonstrated experience or strong capability in leading, mentoring, and developing a merchandising or sales support team.
Skills & Technical Expertise
- Excellent time management and organizational skills, with a proven ability to manage tight deadlines and handle customer-facing Critical Paths (CPs) effectively.
- Strong negotiation and costing skills, paired with commercial acumen to analyze market trends and maintain business profit margins.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, specifically Excel for advanced reporting and budget data management, as well as Word and PowerPoint.
