We are working in partnership with a highly respected City law firm, renowned for its entrepreneurial culture, premium client base, and award-winning disputes practice. The firm has an established reputation in Intellectual Property and is now looking to strengthen its patent litigation offering with the strategic hire of a Patent Litigation Partner in London. This firm is widely regarded for its progressive culture, independence, and ability to attract exceptional lateral talent from traditional City and US firms alike. It offers a platform for ambitious partners who want to build and shape their practice within a collaborative, modern environment.
The Opportunity
This is a unique opportunity to join a firm that combines top-tier IP expertise with cutting-edge litigation capability. The incoming Partner will be instrumental in expanding the firm’s contentious patent practice — particularly in life sciences, pharmaceuticals, technology, telecoms, and engineering. The current IP team consistently attract high-value IP litigation work with high profile cases at The High Court, IPEC and the UPC. Uniquely, this team handle the majority of cases within their London team, so you’ll be integral to the ongoing success of the department. You’ll have the autonomy to grow your practice, supported by an experienced interdisciplinary IP team (including solicitors, patent attorneys, and barristers) and a powerful disputes infrastructure. The firm’s open structure and investment mindset make it ideally suited to Partners who want genuine influence and strategic input.
Candidate Profile
- An established Patent Litigation Partner (or Counsel level ready for partnership).
- Demonstrable experience in managing complex, cross-border patent disputes.
- A portable practice and/or a track record of developing strong client relationships.
- Sector expertise in Pharmaceuticals, Biotechnology, Electronics or Materials Science would be highly valued.
- A collaborative, forward-thinking approach aligned with a modern, dynamic partnership.
