An excellent opportunity has arisen for a talented Construction Disputes lawyer to join a market-leading team recognised for advising clients across the global construction and engineering sector on some of the industry's most complex and high-value disputes. The team advises at every level of the contractual chain, acting for developers, contractors, employers, investors and other key stakeholders. The practice handles a broad range of contentious matters across major infrastructure, energy, real estate and engineering projects in the UK and internationally.
Role
You will advise on a broad range of contentious construction issues, including:
- Construction litigation in the Technology and Construction Court (TCC)
- Domestic and international arbitrations
- Adjudications and other forms of alternative dispute resolution
- Delay and disruption claims
- Defective works disputes
- Payment and termination disputes
- Professional negligence claims
- Force majeure and liquidated damages issues
- Dispute avoidance and risk management throughout the project lifecycle
The role offers significant client exposure and the opportunity to take ownership of key workstreams on large-scale matters while contributing to the supervision and development of junior team members.
Candidate Profile
The successful candidate will:
- Be a qualified solicitor with 3β6 years' post-qualification experience in construction disputes gained at a leading UK practice
- Have strong experience across litigation, arbitration and/or adjudication within the construction sector
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of standard form construction contracts, including NEC and/or FIDIC
- Possess excellent technical, analytical and drafting skills
- Be commercially minded and capable of delivering pragmatic, strategic advice
- Have experience managing client relationships and acting as a trusted adviser
- Enjoy working collaboratively within a high-performing team environment
