You are a Chartered Patent Attorney and European Patent Attorney with a passion for new technology in the fields of Mechanical Engineering, Materials and Electromechanical systems. Applications are especially welcomed from recently qualified Attorneys through to 3 PQE.
You are looking for a firm that can exceed your career aspirations, whilst fully investing in your IP skills and experience to add expertise and strategic guidance to a wide range of direct clients. This award-winning international firm are looking to expand their Engineering practice group and are looking for a talented individual to assist with exciting new projects with established clients, as well as a burgeoning pipeline of work emanating from recent client acquisitions.
The range of subject matter available is broad-reaching and stretching in equal measure, to include; manufacturing, aeronautical (transport) and consumer product technologies. Much of the work available is almost exclusively direct client work on behalf of many UK-based and multinational companies across numerous sectors. You will also get to work with other teams within the firm, as cross-pollination of clients is supported.
There is a good proportion of drafting and prosecution work, complemented by FTO, infringement & validity and other contentious areas of IP. Uniquely, opportunities exist for secondments to UK based clients – further underlining this firm’s commitment to providing the highest level of service, whilst expanding the skill sets and experience of Attorneys.
Experience of drafting patent applications is a prerequisite as there is a significant amount of core work in this area. You should possess an innate interest in the commercial aspects of IP work, as well as an ability to express complex information in a clear and concise manner. Client development is encouraged, so if you have experience of fostering commercially viable relationships, this would be welcomed.
Hybrid working is fully supported, and all within a friendly, modern and progressive working environment. Access to the South West of England would be an advantage, and you can be based in any other UK office.
