Qualified Patent Attorney β Artificial Intelligence & Software
CPA & EPA Qualified | Leading International IP Practice | AI-Focused Opportunity
Are you a qualified Patent Attorney with a genuine passion for Artificial Intelligence and the ambition to become a recognised specialist in this rapidly evolving field?
We are working with a highly regarded international intellectual property practice seeking a dual-qualified Chartered and European Patent Attorney (CPA/EPA) with strong software expertise and demonstrable experience in AI-related patent work.
This is an exciting opportunity for a Patent Attorney who wants to leverage their existing AI experience, deepen their technical specialism and position themselves at the forefront of AI innovation and patent protection. The firm is particularly interested in individuals who are genuinely enthusiastic about AI, understand its commercial potential and are motivated by the opportunity to work with businesses developing next-generation technologies.
The Opportunity
Joining an established and highly respected technology practice, you will have the opportunity to build upon your existing expertise and become increasingly involved in sophisticated AI-related patent matters.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Drafting and prosecuting UK, European and international patent applications involving artificial intelligence, machine learning, neural networks, software and computer-implemented inventions.
- Leveraging your existing AI patent experience to advise innovative technology businesses on protecting commercially valuable inventions.
- Developing patent strategies for emerging AI technologies and complex software innovations.
- Working directly with clients to understand their technology, commercial objectives and evolving IP requirements.
- Managing sophisticated international patent portfolios and handling EPO examination proceedings.
- Collaborating with leading patent attorneys and IP litigators on technically challenging matters.
- Contributing to the continued development and growth of the firm's AI and software patent capabilities.
About You
You regard Artificial Intelligence as a long-term career specialism rather than simply another area of patent prosecution.
- Dual qualification as a Chartered Patent Attorney (CPA) and European Patent Attorney (EPA). Finalist level Attorneys will also be considered.
- A strong academic background in computer science, software engineering, AI, mathematics, physics or a related technical discipline.
- Proven experience drafting and prosecuting software and AI-related patent applications.
- A sound understanding of EPO practice relating to computer-implemented inventions.
- A genuine enthusiasm for AI developments, emerging technologies and their implications for intellectual property protection.
- The commercial awareness and communication skills to advise innovative businesses and build lasting client relationships.
Why Consider This Opportunity?
The firm offers an environment in which you can capitalise on your AI expertise and develop a distinctive specialism within an internationally respected IP practice.
You will benefit from:
- Exposure to sophisticated and technically challenging AI patent work.
- The opportunity to advise innovative technology companies developing next-generation AI solutions.
- The ability to build your professional reputation and expertise in an increasingly important area of intellectual property.
- Collaboration with highly regarded specialists across patent prosecution and litigation.
- Genuine opportunities for professional development, client engagement and long-term career progression within the firm.
- A competitive remuneration package reflecting your expertise and experience.
If you are a dual-qualified Patent Attorney with experience in software and AI patents, and AI is the area in which you want to build your reputation and future career, then get in touch for more information today.
