Position Overview
The MSL (Senior Medical Science Liaison or Principal Medical Science Liaison) is a field-facing representative of US Medical Affairs with primary responsibilities of engaging in the exchange of scientific data and other medical and scientific information with external customers, including healthcare providers, researchers, professional organizations, and decision-makers. The role involves understanding customer needs, issues, and priorities in relation to Eisai\'s strategic business plan, and connecting the big picture to business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Bring relevant insights from the field on research developments, treatment landscapes, and new medical concepts.
- Identify patterns and trends in KOLs\' mindsets and practices across geographies.
- Lead and mentor other MSLs and manage special projects.
- Communicate key scientific and clinical information about Eisai\'s products and the company\'s mission.
- Establish and maintain relationships with KOLs and investigators.
- Contribute to strategic planning and project execution.
Responsibilities by Level
Senior Medical Science Liaison: Act as the primary resource for disease state and product information, lead congress coverage, and develop peer relationships.
Principal Medical Science Liaison: Build advocacy, propose strategic solutions, manage complex projects, and provide strategic insights for development and resource planning.
Qualifications
- Doctorate in medical or health sciences (MD, PhD, PharmD, etc.).
- Experience requirements vary: 1.5-3+ years for Sr. MSL, 8+ years for Principal MSL in Oncology.
- Knowledge of oncology disease management, strong scientific background, and experience in clinical research or pharmacy.
- Ability to travel approximately 60%, possess a valid driver\'s license, and set up a home-based office.
Compensation and Benefits
Salary ranges:
- Sr. MSL: $160,100 - $210,100 USD annually
- Principal MSL: $182,200 - $239,085 USD annually
