M and E Building Services Technician Location: Hatfield Salary: Competitive Our client is a leading research based pharmaceutical organisation with an extensive portfolio across the Oncology, Neurology and Pain therapy areas. By joining them, you will be working for an organisation with a human healthcare philosophy, which means that they put the patient first in everything they do. The Role The M&E Building Services Technician will report to the Estates Engineering Manager, this role has responsibility for the reliable and compliant operation of the estate wide services and equipment serving all business functions across the European Knowledge Centre (EKC) facility at Hatfield. The main purpose is to deliver a high standard of mechanical and electrical services throughout the EKC business, within the estates engineering team. To plan and undertake routine scheduled maintenance of plant and/or equipment with stakeholders, causing minimal disruption. On call (1 in 6), includes attending site Sat/Sun and bank holidays to blow down boilers and carry out plant room checks. Staggered start 37.5 hours one week starting / finishing (07:30 to 16:00) and the other (09:30 to 18:00) Skills and Qualifications Qualification in either: * Electrical engineering, equivalent (BS7671 & C&G 2391) * Mechanical engineering (full-term apprenticeship) * Good verbal and written English skills. Desirable * Educated to ONC/HNC Essential * Use of computer (Windows operating system) * Good awareness of Health and Safety * Multi-Skilled in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering * Experience in domestic and low temperature hot water systems (LTHW). * Motor controls and relay logic * AHU’s, FCU’s and chilled water systems * Working knowledge of “Safe systems of work”. * Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics and equipment manuals. * To be flexible, as occasionally the need will arise to work outside standard office hours. * Experience of CMMS and BMS systems.
