Your new role
We are looking for a Mechanically biased Building Services Technician with some Electrical experience who will report to the Estates Engineering Manager. This role has responsibility for the reliable and compliant operation of the estate wide services and equipment serving all business functions across the European Knowledge Centre (EKC) facility at Hatfield. The main purpose is to deliver a high standard of mechanical and electrical services throughout the EKC business, within the estates engineering team. To plan and undertake routine scheduled maintenance of plant and/or equipment with stakeholders, causing minimal disruption.
Working hours - 07:00-16:00 or 09:30-18:00 (Shift allowance) Mon-Sat x1.5 basic hourly rate Sun & BH x2 basic hourly rate (plus TOIL if working a BH)
What are we looking for?
- Electrical engineering, equivalent (BS7671 & C&G 2391) - Essential
- Mechanical engineering (full-term apprenticeship) - Essential
- Good verbal and written English skills - Essential
- Educated to ONC/HNC - Desirable
- Use of computer (Windows operating system) - Essential
- Good awareness of Health and Safety - Essential
- Multi-Skilled in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering - Essential
- Experience in domestic and low temperature hot water systems (LTHW) - Essential
- Motor controls and relay logic - Essential
- AHU’s, FCU’s and chilled water systems - Essential
- Working knowledge of “Safe systems of work” - Essential
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics and equipment manuals - Essential
- To be flexible, as occasionally the need will arise to work outside standard office hours - Essential
- Experience of CMMS and BMS systems - Essential
- Experience working in controlled environments - Desirable
- Water systems and water treatment - Desirable
