Role & Responsibilities Of The Senior Quantity Surveyor
- Take full commercial ownership of major projects, acting as the lead QS and key commercial decision-maker.
- Manage all aspects of cost control, procurement, and contract strategy across the project lifecycle.
- Prepare, submit, and negotiate interim and final accounts with clients and subcontractors.
- Lead on contract review, risk management, and variation negotiation.
- Work closely with directors and senior stakeholders, providing commercial insight and strategic input.
- Oversee subcontractor procurement and performance to ensure value and compliance.
- Monitor budgets, cash flow, and reporting, driving improvements where required.
- Mentor and support junior QS team members where applicable.
- Travel to sites nationally, maintaining strong oversight of project delivery and performance.
About You As The Senior Quantity Surveyor
- Proven experience operating at Senior QS level on high-value projects (ideally £50m+).
- Strong commercial acumen with the confidence to operate autonomously.
- Comfortable acting as a commercial lead and key point of contact for senior stakeholders.
- Experience working within subcontractor or specialist delivery environments.
- Decisive, accountable, and confident in managing risk and driving outcomes.
- Motivated by ownership, impact, and working within a lean, high-performing team.
