The primary objective of this role is to lead the Financial Adviser community of Eight, focusing on cultivating, empowering and retaining commercially high-performing Advisers who are equipped with the skills, insights and support to deliver exceptional client outcomes, increase revenue per adviser and accelerate growth — all underpinned by the distinctive Eight culture and experience.

The role:

  • Recruitment & Selection: Support the business in attracting and selecting the future of Eight advisers, building advisor propositions to attract the right talent to join Eight.
  • Onboarding: Ensure a smooth transition into Eight by building 90-day plans with new advisers, ensuring engagement with key stakeholders and building confidence and connections across Eight and SJP.
  • Conduct gap-skills analysis which is aligned to business expectations.
  • Development: Support advisers to grow in capability, confidence and performance by tailoring development plans, evaluating readiness and product knowledge as well as regulatory competencies.
  • Lead and facilitate the connection between advisers and operations so that advisers know how to self-serve and use the available in-house tools, systems and processes within Eight operations teams effectively for smooth business processing – right first time.
  • Retaining Talent: Lead and support long-term adviser success, motivation and engagement ensuring our advisers are aspiring to the one team one dream vision within Eight. This will include regular engagement with the business, operations, systems and processes and leadership to review productivity and key performance indicators.
  • Offer support and motivation through recognition, feedback and goal alignment.
  • Support Adviser and Business Growth: Support our advisers to expand their impact and capability to stay aligned with wider business growth objectives, facilitate peer group engagement, share learning and career progression ideas, introduce wider advice opportunities and product diversification.
  • Lead by promoting best practice through model office engagement, enhancing technical knowledge to increase compliant and confident advice.
  • Building relationships: Responsible for building relationships with key stakeholders within G&D and in SJP and across the industry to support the growth and development of our Advisers.
  • Budget Management: With support from Head of Business Growth, hold G&D Budget responsibilities, planning and working within assigned budgets.

Requirements Knowledge & Skills:

  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills underpinned by informed sound judgement.
  • Able to build excellent rapport and relationship building skills that enable impact and influence both Eight and wider SJP.
  • Sound knowledge of Financial Advisory skills.
  • Ability to organise time and workload, work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Have an in-depth understanding and appreciation for good client outcomes and have a service-oriented approach.
  • Ability to identify skills and knowledge shortfalls, provide constructive feedback and through strong coaching/development/mentoring skills support individuals in the relevant areas of the business to enable the Adviser to become established.
  • Strong IT skills, across the MS Office suite, sufficient enough to produce reports, to communicate and present data/outcomes/information.
