EKFB is a joint venture that brings together international, market leading expertise from four leading civil engineering and construction companies: Eiffage, Kier, Ferrovial Construction and BAM Nuttall. All four partners have specialist expertise in the design, construction, operation, financing and maintenance of railway networks, including the construction of one of Europe’s latest high speed rail projects. EKFB are looking for a Deputy Engineering Manager to join the team based in Brackley. This site based role will support the Engineering team and work closely with the construction team for day-to-day matters. This will include identifying and mitigating key engineering risks and issues.
The Deputy Engineering Manager will review and accept WPPs (RAMS) and ITPs on behalf of the Engineering Manager, calling on the Quality and Environmental teams and ASC Construction Support teams where input is needed. This role will oversee the management and execution of temporary works and the proper co-ordination, integration and execution of the permanent works and temporary works designs. The Deputy Engineering Manager will provide technical support and guidance to the construction delivery teams, including SCEW matters, NCRs, short notice design changes (TQs, FCRs), materials approvals, shop drawing reviews, temporary works design reviews, and testing (e.g. lab, materials management). This position will oversee the timely and accurate redlining of approved changes to the design by the construction delivery team and lead or support (as necessary) for technical assurance purposes (audit, surveillance, HS2 Technical Assurance Reviews). The Deputy Engineering Manager will liaise with the Designers Construction Support team to manage resolution of FCRs and TQs.
Responsibilities

- Identify and mitigate key engineering risks and issues.
- Review and accept WPPs (RAMS) and ITPs on behalf of the Engineering Manager.
- Coordinate input from Quality, Environmental and ASC Construction Support teams as needed.
- Oversee management and execution of temporary works and co-ordinate permanent and temporary works designs.
- Provide technical support and guidance including SCEW matters, NCRs, design changes (TQs, FCRs), materials approvals, shop drawing reviews, and testing.
- Lead or support technical assurance activities (audit, surveillance, HS2 Technical Assurance Reviews).
- Manage resolution of FCRs and TQs with the Designers Construction Support team.
- Oversee redlining of approved design changes by the construction delivery team.
Qualifications
- Experience in Major Civil Engineering works
- Ability to coordinate workloads
- Good communication skills
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
- Chartered Civil or Structural Engineer
- Experience working on Large Infrastructure projects
- Previous experience working in a similar role
