About The Role
EKFB is a joint venture that brings together international expertise from four leading civil engineering and construction companies: Eiffage, Kier, Ferrovial and BAM Nuttall. All four partners have specialist expertise in the design, construction, operation, financing and maintenance of railway networks, including the construction of one of Europe’s latest high speed rail projects.
The successful applicant will work closely with the Construction Director for day‑to‑day matters in a site‑based role at the Greatworth to Southam area. Providing quasi‑independent design, technical and engineering oversight of all construction matters on behalf of the Contractor’s Engineering Director and Lead Designer, to ensure proper execution of the works by the construction delivery team. The role requires reviewing and accepting RAMS, WPP and ITPs on behalf of the CED.
Key responsibilities include:
- Overseeing the management and execution of temporary works
- Leading a team of Temporary Works Coordinators
- Coordinating permanent and temporary works designs
- Providing technical support to construction delivery teams
- Reviewing shop drawings
- Managing laboratory testing and material approvals
- Ensuring the timely redlining of approved changes
Additional duties involve:
- Leading, directing and managing Construction Support as described in the ASC Stage Two Scope
- Implementing a risk‑based approach to reviewing temporary works designs
- Monitoring ASC construction support performance
- Conducting quarterly performance reviews
- Forecasting
- Exercising budgetary control
Qualifications:
- Experience in major civil engineering works and large infrastructure projects
- Previous experience in a similar role
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
- Chartered Civil or Structural Engineer
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills
- Ability to coordinate workloads
- Good communication skills
- Driving licence and access to a vehicle required
- Holder of SMSTS
- Holder of a CSCS card (White; White/Yellow; Red – Experienced; Black – Manager or Gold – Supervisor)
