EKFB is proud to have been appointed by HS2 to deliver civil engineering works across an 80km section of the new high speed rail link between the Chiltern Tunnel and Long Itchington Wood. We are seeking to recruit an Agent for our Earthworks team based in Wendover. Due to the location of our site compounds, you must hold a full driving license and have access to a vehicle.
As an Agent, you will need to assist with the construction strategy, including kick-off meetings, pre-commencement documentation such as Method Statements, Environmental and Quality Plans, Construction programmes, procurement and design deliverable schedules. This position will need to liaise with the Sub Agent and Section Foreman to allocate self delivery, labour, plant, materials and temporary works to carry out the activities to the required standards, programme and budget.
This role will also manage the site engineering team and be responsible for the performance and development of Sub Agents, site and Section Engineers. The Agent will assist with the co-ordination of construction operations, ensuring they conform to the contract requirements and the required level of safety, health, environment and quality (SHEQ).
This position will also assist with the production of programmes, progress reports, resource and cost plans, contribute to financial forecasting, key quantity forecasting, measurement, material reconciliations and cost control. The Agent will maintain the commercial position with the Employer and subcontractors. Raise Early Warnings as necessary and manage these through Risk Reduction meetings, risk management and eventual close out. Assist with the acceptance of subcontractor programmes and the preparation of the overall HS2 Clause 32 programme. Drive the close out of quality documentation contemporaneous to the completion of the works on site.
About You
- HNC/Degree (Construction/Civil Engineering related) or equivalent.
- Demonstration of knowledge and practical application of Site Engineering activities combined with construction supervision skills.
- Must have extensive experience of working on large scale earthworks.
- You must hold the following competencies: SMSTS CSCS White, White/Yellow, Red-Experienced, Black-Manager or Gold-Supervisor.
- You must hold a full driving license.
- Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) security clearance will be required.
