About The Role
At EKFB we're shaping infrastructure for a better tomorrow. All four of our partners (Eiffage, Kier, Ferrovial and BAM) bring specialist expertise in the design, construction, operation, financing and maintenance of railway networks, including the construction of one of Europe's latest high‐speed rail projects.
We're recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Chipping Warden. The Senior Quantity Surveyor will need to carry out tasks independently and, at times, lead a small group of commercial staff. Responsibilities include both periodical duties and one‐off tasks in accordance with deadlines set by the senior Commercial team. You will prepare and agree variation accounts – main contract and sub‐contracts – and monitor costs against targets and contract progress against accepted programmes and work plans in collaboration with other team disciplines.
Key duties also involve providing input into change control procedures for EOT, delays and performance adjustments; preparing and agreeing interim valuations, final valuations, final accounts and sub‐contract final accounts; issuing certification and payment of sub‐contractors; and providing contractual advice to management to ensure compliance with contract and legal administration obligations (e.g., timely issue of relevant notices). You must negotiate and progress the resolution of any disputes, identify potential commercial risks and evaluate options for their control and management.
About You
- Qualified with a Quantity Surveying degree or similar.
- Enrolled in, or seeking membership of, a relevant professional institution (CICES, RICS or similar).
- Successful experience at Quantity Surveyor level, demonstrating the ability to deliver a positive commercial outcome for the project(s) with which you have been associated.
- The ability to listen, learn and take on board new concepts and carry out actions, while mentoring junior team members.
- Must hold a valid UK driver's licence and have access to a vehicle.
- Must hold a valid CSCS card.
Pre‐employment checks
The company will undertake relevant and standard employment checks if you are successful in the selection process. This includes checking references, ID, driving licence (if appropriate) and your right to work in the UK. Some roles may also be subject to further pre‐employment checks.
Security Clearance
BPSS security clearance will be required (to be undertaken as part of the onboarding process).
