EKFB is a joint venture that brings together international, market leading expertise from four leading civil engineering and construction companies: Eiffage, Kier, Ferrovial Construction and BAM Nuttall. We're working on an 80km stretch of the new HS2 (Phase 1) from London to Birmingham.

We’re looking for a Communications Officer to join our Communications team. This position will require regular travel around the site compounds and also to our Milton Keynes HQ, so it is essential that you have a full driving license and have access to a vehicle.

This position plays a key role in ensuring consistent messaging, building strong relationships across project teams, and showcasing progress, innovation, and success through a range of internal and external channels. The role involves close collaboration with operational teams across designated sites to develop and deliver proactive communications plans aligned to programme milestones.

Responsibilities include:

Working alongside internal teams, supply chain partners, and external stakeholders, this role contributes to strategic storytelling and helps drive engagement through creative, innovative approaches, including the use of digital and emerging communication technologies.

It’s worth remembering that we’ll undertake the relevant/standard employment checks if you’re successful in the selection process. Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) security clearance will be required (to be undertaken as part of onboarding process).

About You:

  • Proven ability to influence and build effective stakeholder relationships at all levels, including senior leadership
  • Demonstrable experience delivering communications strategies within large, complex organisations across multiple platforms
  • Strong capability to shape and tailor messaging for diverse audiences
  • Exceptional written and editorial skills with attention to detail
  • Solid experience managing social media channels, including blogs and major platforms such as Facebook and Twitter
  • Highly organised approach with strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Creative and innovative mindset with the ability to identify new opportunities and approaches
  • Basic project management knowledge and the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Experience using Adobe Creative Suite is desirable
  • Previous experience with Media Relations is desirable
