EKFB is proud to have been appointed by HS2 to deliver civil engineering works across an 80km section of the new high speed rail link between the Chiltern Tunnel and Long Itchington Wood. We’re looking to recruit an Assistant Site Engineer with Earthworks and/or Structures experience to join our team in the Calvert area.

In this role, you will be required to liaise with the Sub Agent and Section Foreman to allocate labour, plant and materials to carry out works activities to the required standards, programme and budget. You will be responsible for work with the other team members of the setting‑out team and be responsible for the performance and development of the junior engineers and also for identifying and resolving technical problems on site in liaison with the senior team and Sub‑Agent. You will monitor and coordinate subcontractors in the performance of their works, ensuring they are completed to the contractual requirements. You will ensure that the team have all current information and resources required to carry out their duties. You will also assist with the production of programmes, progress reports, resource and cost plans and contribute to financial forecasting.

About You

  • Key Skills and Qualifications:
  • HNC/Degree (Construction/Civil Engineering related) or equivalent and working towards institution membership (ICE)
  • Experience in Earthworks and/or Structures is essential for this role
  • Demonstration of knowledge and practical application of Site Engineering activities combined with construction supervision skills
  • CSCS card required (Black, Gold, White, White/Yellow, Red Experienced or Red Provisional (6 months))
  • Full driving licence and access to a vehicle required

This includes taking up your references, as well as checking your ID, driving licence (if appropriate) and your right to work in the UK. Some roles may also be subject to further pre‑employment checks. BPSS security clearance will be required (to be undertaken as part of the onboarding process).
