About The Role
EKFB is proud to have been appointed by HS2 to deliver civil engineering works across an 80km section of the new high speed rail link between the Chiltern tunnel and Long Itchington Wood. We are seeking to recruit a Section Engineer to join our Highways and Drainage teams in Chipping Warden.
The Section Engineer manages junior engineers and assists the Sub Agent in construction operations. You will report to the Sub Agent and supervise the site engineering team from construction to close out, assisting with temporary works design schemes and liaising with the Sub Agent and Section Foreman to allocate labour, plant and materials to carry out works activities to the required standards, programme and budget.
You will be responsible for managing the site setting‑out team and for the performance and development of the Site Engineers. In addition, you will identify and resolve technical problems on site in liaison with the Sub‑Agent and monitor and coordinate subcontractors ensuring their works are completed to contractual requirements.
Ensuring the team has all current information and resources required to carry out their duties, you will assist with the production of programmes, progress reports, resource and cost plans and contribute to financial forecasting.
BPSS security clearance will be required during the onboarding process.
About You
Key Skills and Qualifications:
- HNC/Degree (Construction/Civil Engineering related) or equivalent and working towards institute membership (ICE)
- Demonstration of knowledge and practical application of Site Engineering activities combined with construction supervision skills.
- Experience in utilities, heavy structures or Highways and drainage is essential for this role.
- Must have own transport to be able to attend site(s) in remote areas.
- Full driving licence required.
- You must hold an SMSTS or SSSTS.
- CSCS White, White‑Yellow, Red – Experienced, Black – Manager or Gold – Supervisor.
