You will join the commercial team as a
Freelance Quantity Surveyor reporting to the Commercial Manager.
Responsibilities include tender pricing, risk assessments and contract drafting/negotiations.
You will work both independently and with a team, handling cost and value reconciliations, bottom‑up and end‑life cost reporting, cash management, subcontract account management, payment disputes, and providing commercial input to project strategy.
Strong working relationships with clients and colleagues, both internal and external, and contract administration with data reporting and record keeping are essential.
About You
We are looking for someone with the following skills and qualifications.
- You must have previous experience in a Quantity Surveyor position.
- You must have working knowledge of NEC contracts including options A, B and C.
- Working experience of self‑delivery works.
- Experience within a civils contractor environment is essential.
- Understanding of cost and time.
- Enthusiastic approach with clear communication skills to liaise with a wide range of people and teams.
- Experience in subcontractor management.
Desirable
- Experience working on Concrete Structures such as viaducts and bridges.
- Experience working with large subcontracts such as piling.
- Procurement of subcontractors.
