About The Role

Eiffage, Kier, Ferrovial and BAM (EKFB) are proud to have been appointed by HS2 to deliver civil engineering works across an 80km section of the new high speed rail link between the Chiltern Tunnel and Long Itchington Wood. We’re looking to recruit an Ecology Advisor to join the North Chilterns to Aylesbury (NC2A) area. This role is based around the Aylesbury area, and we ask that applicants hold a full driving licence due to the remote location of the role.

Responsibilities

  • Undertaking ecological surveys for legally protected species.
  • Undertaking pre‑commencement desk studies and site walkover checks.
  • Delivering briefings and Toolbox Talks (TBTs) to site and engineering teams.
  • Completing and reviewing ecological and arboricultural construction permits.
  • Identifying and implementing ecological site mitigation including, writing precautionary working method statements (PWMSs).
  • Completing ecological technical assessments.
  • Coordinating Ecological Clerk of Works (ECoWs).
  • Coordinating and managing ecology and landscaping subcontractors.
  • Undertaking assurance checks of ecological and landscape mitigation sites.
  • Undertaking ecological watching briefs.
  • Completing targeted ecological site inspections.
  • Liaising with the construction team to ensure works are undertaken in accordance with all legislation and internal processes / procedures.
  • Investigating site incidents.

About You

  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience in the application of ecological legislation for large scale infrastructure projects in the UK.
  • Be meticulous in checking detail whilst recognising delivery priorities, programme need and the anticipated volume of work.
  • Have good inter‑personal skills and be able to develop and maintain good relationships, networks and work as part of a team.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with experience of negotiating with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders and the ability to extract key points and communicate this to others.
  • Membership of an appropriate professional body working towards chartered status.
  • Holder of a Level 1 (or above) GCN class licence, any other licences welcome.
  • Must hold full UK Driving Licence.
