About The Role

EKFB is proud to have been appointed by HS2 to deliver civil engineering works across an 80km section of the new high speed rail link between the Chiltern Tunnel and Long Itchington Wood. We are seeking to recruit an Agent for our Earthworks team based in Wendover. Due to the location of our site compounds, you must hold a full driving license and have access to a vehicle.

As an Agent, your responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with the construction strategy, including kick‑off meetings, pre‑commencement documentation such as Method Statements, Environmental and Quality Plans, Construction programmes, procurement and design deliverable schedules.
  • Liaising with the Sub Agent and Section Foreman to allocate self‑delivery, labour, plant, materials and temporary works to carry out the activities to the required standards, programme and budget.
  • Managing the site engineering team and being responsible for the performance and development of Sub Agents, site and Section Engineers.
  • Coordinating construction operations, ensuring they conform to contract requirements, and maintaining high standards of safety, health, environment and quality (SHEQ).
  • Assisting with the production of programmes, progress reports, resource and cost plans, contributing to financial forecasting, key quantity forecasting and measurement, material reconciliations and cost control.
  • Maintaining the commercial position with the Employer and subcontractors, raising early warnings as necessary and managing them through risk reduction meetings, risk management and eventual close out.
  • Assisting with the acceptance of subcontractor programmes and preparation of the overall HS2 Clause 32 programme, driving the close‑out of quality documentation in conjunction with the completion of works on site.

About You

  • HNC/Degree (Construction/Civil Engineering related) or equivalent.
  • Demonstration of knowledge and practical application of site engineering activities combined with construction supervision skills.
  • Extensive experience of working on large scale earthworks.
  • Must hold the following competencies: SMSTS CSCS White, White/Yellow, Red‑Experienced, Black‑Manager or Gold‑Supervisor.
  • Must hold a full driving license.
