About The Role
EKFB is proud to have been appointed by HS2 to deliver civil engineering works across an 80km section of the new high speed rail link between the Chiltern Tunnel and Long Itchington Wood. We are looking to recruit a Freelance Site Engineer to join our team based at Chipping Warden.
The Site Engineer is responsible on site for other junior engineers and assists in the construction operations in the Chipping Warden area. You will liaise with the Sub Agent and Section Foreman to allocate labour, plant and materials to carry out works activities to the required standards, programme and budget. You will work with the setting-out team and be responsible for the performance and development of the junior engineers, and for identifying and resolving technical problems on site in liaison with the senior team and Sub-Agent. You will monitor and coordinate subcontractors to ensure their works are completed to the contractual requirements. You will ensure the team has all current information and resources required to carry out their duties, and assist with the production of programmes, progress reports, resource and cost plans, and contribute to financial forecasting.
About You
- HNC/Degree (Construction/Civil Engineering related) or equivalent and working towards institute membership (ICE).
- CSCS card at White, White-Yellow, Red β Experienced, Black β Manager or Gold β Supervisor.
- Previous highways or structures experience is essential.
- Demonstration of knowledge and practical application of Site Engineering activities combined with construction supervision skills.
- Experience in utilities, earthworks, heavy structures or drainage is essential for this role.
- You must hold a driving license and have access to a vehicle.
