OverviewEKFB is a joint venture bringing together international, market‐leading expertise from four civil engineering and construction companies: Eiffage, Kier, Ferrovial and BAM Nuttall. The company is appointed by HS2 to deliver civil engineering works across an 80 km section of the new high‐speed rail link between the Chiltern Tunnel and Long Itchington Wood, including 15 viaducts, 5 km of green tunnels, 22 km of road diversions, 67 overbridges and around 30 million cubic metres of excavation.

We are seeking a Section Engineer to join our growing Green Tunnels team based in Wendover, Buckinghamshire. In this role you will manage junior engineers and assist the Sub Agent in construction operations.

Responsibilities

Report to the Sub Agent and supervise the site engineering team from construction to close‐out.

Assist with temporary works design schemes, and liaise with the Sub Agent and Section Foreman to allocate labour, plant and materials to carry out works activities to the required standards, programme and budget.

Manage the site setting‐out team and oversee the performance and development of the Site Engineers.

Identify and resolve technical problems on site in liaison with the Sub‐Agent.

Monitor and coordinate subcontractors, ensuring they complete works to contractual requirements.

Prepare programmes, progress reports, resource and cost plans, and contribute to financial forecasting.

Qualifications

HNC/Degree in Construction or Civil Engineering, or equivalent, with progress towards ICE membership.

Demonstrated knowledge and practical application of site engineering activities combined with construction supervision skills.

Experience in utilities, earthworks, heavy structures or drainage is essential.

Own transport available to attend site(s) in remote areas and a full driving licence.

Required competencies:

SMSTS or SSSTS.

CSCS card: White, White‐Yellow, Red – Experienced, Black – Manager, or Gold – Supervisor.
