EKFB is a joint venture that brings together international market‑leading expertise from four leading civil engineering and construction companies: Eiffage, Kier, Ferrovial Construction and BAM Nuttall. We are working on an 80 km stretch of the new HS2 (Phase 1) from London to Birmingham. This Communications Officer position requires regular travel around site compounds and to our Milton Keynes HQ; a full driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential. The role ensures consistent messaging, builds relationships across project teams, and showcases progress, innovation, and success through internal and external channels. It involves close collaboration with operational teams across designated sites to develop and deliver proactive communications plans aligned to programme milestones, creating compelling content, supporting campaigns, coordinating events and site visits, and ensuring brand consistency across all outputs. The role contributes to strategic storytelling and drives engagement through creative, innovative approaches, including digital and emerging communication technologies.
Responsibilities
- Create compelling communication content across multiple platforms.
- Collaborate with operational teams to align messaging to programme milestones.
- Support campaigns, coordinate events and site visits.
- Ensure brand consistency across all outputs.
- Develop proactive communication plans and deliver them on time.
- Contribute to strategic storytelling and engagement through innovative approaches.
About You
- Proven ability to influence and build effective stakeholder relationships at all levels, including senior leadership.
- Demonstrable experience delivering communication strategies within large, complex organisations across multiple platforms.
- Strong capability to shape and tailor messaging for diverse audiences.
- Exceptional written and editorial skills with attention to detail.
- Solid experience managing social media channels, including blogs and major platforms such as Facebook and Twitter.
- Highly organised approach with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Creative and innovative mindset with the ability to identify new opportunities and approaches.
- Basic project management knowledge and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Experience using Adobe Creative Suite is desirable.
- Previous experience with Media Relations is desirable.
