Join to apply for the Land Surveyor - Freelance role at Eiffage Kier Ferrovial BAM (EKFB). EKFB is proud to have been appointed by HS2 to deliver civil engineering works across an 80km section of the new high‑speed rail link between the Chiltern Tunnel and Long Itchington Wood.

Responsibilities

  • Support Senior Land Surveyor in establishing and maintaining the site survey control network, reporting and validating different construction stages.
  • Undertake land/topographic/hydrographic/measured building surveys using specialist equipment such as robotics and 3D scanners.
  • Analyze survey data with plans, maps, charts and software (AutoCAD, Trimble Business Centre, Star*Net, N4ce, Leica Infinity, GIS) to prepare drawings and reports.
  • Coordinate with Site Engineers and construction teams regarding project priorities, plan changes, deviations, unusual activities and non‑conformances.
  • Conduct setting‑out and as‑built surveys, topographical and engineering surveys (laser scanner), and manage registration and post‑processing of point cloud data, including data extraction.
  • Execute GNSS network surveying, precise traversing and levelling, and oversee and conduct drone flight surveys.

Qualifications

  • HND/degree in Land Survey, Geomatics or equivalent.
  • Experience in a similar role.
  • Excellent knowledge of Trimble and Leica total stations, levels (Leica LS15) and GNSS receivers.
  • Excellent AutoCAD skills for 2D and 3D drawings.
  • Proficiency in survey software such as Trimble Business Center, Star*Net, N4ce, Leica Infinity.
  • GVC Drone qualification.
  • Experience preparing survey‑related Method Statements and Risk Assessments (desirable).
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong report writing and compilation skills.

Pre‑employment Checks

EKFB will carry out standard employment checks, including references, ID, driving licence (if relevant) and right to work in the UK. Some roles may require additional checks. BPSS security clearance will be required and undertaken as part of onboarding.
