EKFB is proud to have been appointed by HS2 to deliver civil engineering works across an 80km section of the new high speed rail link between the Chiltern Tunnel and Long Itchington Wood. We are looking to recruit an Agent with extensive Earthworks and Drainage experience on a freelance basis to join our team based in Calvert.
As a Site Agent you will need to assist with the construction strategy, which includes kick‑off meetings, pre‑commencement documentation such as Method Statements, Environmental and Quality Plans, Construction programmes, procurement and design deliverable schedules. Part of this role is to liaise with the Agent and Section Foreman to allocate labour, plant, materials and temporary works to carry out the activities to the required standards, programme and budget. You will also need to manage the site engineering team and be responsible for the performance and development of site and Section Engineers. In addition, you will assist with the co‑ordination of construction operations, ensuring they conform to the contract requirements and the required level of safety, health, environment and quality (SHEQ). You will also assist with the production of programmes, progress reports, resource and cost plans and contribute to financial forecasting, site measurement, material reconciliations and cost control.
Key Skills and Qualifications
- HNC/Degree (Construction/Civil Engineering related) or equivalent.
- Demonstration of knowledge and practical application of Site Engineering activities combined with construction supervision skills.
- Experience of working on either Earthworks and Drainage are essential.
- You must hold a full driving licence and have access to your own vehicle.
- You must hold a CSCS card [Black, Gold, White, White/Yellow, Red Experienced or Red Provisional (6 months)].
- You must hold SMSTS certificate.
