We are looking for an experienced and commercially minded Bid Manager to take ownership of tendering, proposals, and formal opportunities across four established brands within our group. The majority of opportunities managed within this role sit within the UK energy and utilities environment, spanning both public and private sector clients. Our services cover areas such as energy procurement, carbon and sustainability services, metering and building technologies, tenant billing, and associated advisory support.

Working closely with the Sales Team, subject matter experts, and the Head of Creative Content, you will manage the end-to-end bid process – from opportunity identification and storyboarding through to final submission and post‐bid review. You will act as the central point of control for all bid activity, ensuring opportunities are tracked, positioned effectively, and delivered to a consistently high standard.

While the role is based in Wallington, we recognise the value of flexibility and will consider hybrid working arrangements for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities
  • Bid Management & Strategy
    • Own the end-to-end bid process across four distinct brands, acting as the central point of control for all tender and proposal activity.
    • Lead bid storyboarding sessions, developing clear structures, win themes, and response strategies tailored to each opportunity and procurement route.
    • Support go/no‐go discussions by assessing opportunity fit, resourcing requirements, compliance considerations, and likelihood of success.
  • Tender & Proposal Writing
    • Write, edit, and refine high-quality bid and proposal responses that clearly articulate value, differentiation, and compliance.
    • Translate complex technical, commercial, and regulatory information into clear, persuasive written content.
    • Ensure all submissions align with brand tone of voice, sector expectations, and published evaluation criteria.
  • Coordination, Submissions & Portals
    • Manage the bid calendar in collaboration with the Sales Team, ensuring all deadlines are met without compromising quality.
    • Take ownership of the central Submissions inbox, monitoring incoming opportunities, managing queries, and ensuring nothing is missed.
    • Maintain and manage tender portals, including keeping login details, passwords, organisational profiles, and compliance information accurate and up to date.
    • Coordinate inputs from internal stakeholders and subject matter experts, maintaining momentum and accountability throughout the bid process.
    • Oversee final document preparation, proofreading, and submission across portals and frameworks.
  • Market Awareness & Opportunity Identification
    • Proactively identify tender and proposal opportunities aligned to our service lines, sectors, and regulatory environment.
    • Conduct light‐touch market, client, and sector research to support bid positioning and strategic messaging.
  • Knowledge & Continuous Improvement
    • Maintain and develop the bid knowledge base, including templates, case studies, boilerplate content, and standard responses.
    • Lead post‐bid reviews to capture feedback, lessons learned, and areas for improvement.
Experience & Skills
  • 2–5 years' experience in bid writing or bid management, with a demonstrable track record of successful tenders.
  • Experience managing multiple bids simultaneously within regulated or compliance‐led environments.
  • Excellent written English with strong attention to clarity, structure, and detail.
  • Confident stakeholder management skills, including the ability to challenge, refine, and rework inputs constructively.
  • Strong organisational and project management capability.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; familiarity with bid or proposal management tools is beneficial.
Desirable
  • Experience with public sector tenders and framework competitions.
  • Knowledge of UK procurement legislation, including the Procurement Act 2023.
  • Understanding of the UK energy, utilities, or regulated infrastructure environment.
  • Relevant qualifications or a portfolio of bid work.
  • A proactive mind‐set with the energy and motivation to take ownership, improve processes, and grow with the role.
Growth & Progression

This role offers significant scope for development. As the business continues to grow, there will be opportunities to expand the remit of the bid function, take on greater strategic responsibility, and progress into a more senior role. We actively back people who show initiative, curiosity, and commitment – if you bring the energy and ambition, we will support your progression.
