Location: CAMS Oxford Institute, Building for Molecular Physiology, Roosevelt Drive, Old Road Campus, Oxford, OX3 7BN. Additionally, MRC Weatherall Institute of Molecular Medicine, John Radcliffe Hospital, Headley Way, Headington, Oxford, OX3 9DS.

We are seeking to appoint a Postdoctoral Research Scientist to join Professor Tao Dong's Cancer Immunology and Immunotherapy group at the CAMS Oxford Institute. The research will focus on identifying and characterising cancer-specific T cells with the potential to cross-react with viral antigens, with the aim of improving understanding of cancer progression and informing new cancer immunotherapy strategies.

You will be responsible for:

  • Designing and conducting experiments
  • Analysing existing multiomic data from patient cohorts
  • Generating new datasets
  • Developing T cell lines, clones and TCR-T cells for further characterisation
  • Analysing scientific data
  • Developing experimental protocols
  • Troubleshooting technical problems
  • Supervising students and visiting researchers
  • Contributing to publications, presentations and collaborative research projects

It is essential that you hold, or are close to completing, a PhD/DPhil in T cell immunology (or related discipline), with experience working with human T cells, cell culture and functional phenotyping. Candidates should have experience of single-cell or bulk RNA sequencing and data analysis, high-dimensional flow cytometry, managing independent research and contributing to publications or presentations. Excellent communication, collaboration and research planning skills are also required. Experience working with multiomics platforms and datasets or imaging analysis would be advantageous.

This position is offered full time on a fixed term contract until 31 December 2028 and is funded by the CAMS Core grant. Salary: £39,424 to £47,779 per annum (pro rata), inclusive of a pensionable Oxford University Weighting of £1,730 per year (pro rata).
