Protect worker health. Make a real-world difference. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Industrial Hygienist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating health hazards in the workplace to ensure the safety and well-being of employees.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect and evaluate workplace environments, equipment, and practices to ensure compliance with safety standards and government regulations.
- Conduct industrial hygiene monitoring, sampling, and data analysis to measure worker exposure to chemical, biological, and physical hazards.
- Develop, recommend, and implement measures to prevent, eliminate, or control occupational health hazards.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations outlining findings and recommendations for controlling exposures.
- Educate employers and workers about workplace risks and preventive measures.
- Collaborate with occupational health and safety specialists to investigate accidents and identify potential hazards.
- Develop and deliver training programs on worker protection and safety practices.
- Stay current on new laws and regulations affecting industrial hygiene and interpret them for company officials.
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Requirements Person Specification:
- Proven experience in industrial hygiene, including hazard assessment and control.
- In-depth knowledge of safety regulations, chemical hazards, and occupational health standards.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Certification in Industrial Hygiene (CIH) or equivalent professional qualification.
- Chartered member of the BoHS, or currently undertaking CPD program to become chartered.
- Experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Advanced degrees in occupational health, safety, or related fields.
- Knowledge of ergonomic principles and practices.
- Experience with health and safety training programs.
