Job Title: Consultant β Principal Designer Services
Location: London & Midlands (Hybrid with site visits)
Contract Type: Contract

EHS International is seeking an experienced Consultant to provide Principal Designer advisory services under the Construction (Design & Management) Regulations 2015.
This is a key opportunity for a Health & Safety professional with strong design-stage experience to play a vital role in planning, managing, and coordinating design safety across high-profile construction and engineering projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide professional advisory support to assist in discharging Principal Designer duties under CDM Regulations 2015
- Plan, manage, monitor, and coordinate health and safety during the design phase of projects
- Review and develop pre-construction information, design risk assessments, and relevant documentation
- Support project teams in identifying, eliminating, or controlling foreseeable risks during design development
- Liaise with design teams, contractors, and project managers to ensure safety considerations are embedded from concept through to completion
- Attend project and client meetings as required and provide clear safety design guidance
Requirements
- Proven experience providing Health & Safety or CDM advisory services within the construction or engineering sectors
- Strong working knowledge of CDM Regulations 2015 and UK construction legislation
- Ability to plan, manage and coordinate design safety activities and risk assessments
- Excellent communication and documentation skills, with a practical approach to safety in design
- Relevant H&S qualifications (e.g., NEBOSH Construction, IOSH Managing Safely, or equivalent)
- Chartered Membership of IOSH or APS (desirable)
