EHS International is seeking an experienced Consultant to provide Principal Designer advisory services under the Construction (Design & Management) Regulations 2015.

This is a key opportunity for a Health & Safety professional with strong design-stage experience to play a vital role in planning, managing, and coordinating design safety across high-profile construction and engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities

Provide professional advisory support to assist in discharging Principal Designer duties under CDM Regulations 2015
Plan, manage, monitor, and coordinate health and safety during the design phase of projects
Review and develop pre-construction information, design risk assessments, and relevant documentation
Support project teams in identifying, eliminating, or controlling foreseeable risks during design development
Liaise with design teams, contractors, and project managers to ensure safety considerations are embedded from concept through to completion
Attend project and client meetings as required and provide clear safety design guidance

Requirements

Proven experience providing Health & Safety or CDM advisory services within the construction or engineering sectors
Strong working knowledge of CDM Regulations 2015 and UK construction legislation
Ability to plan, manage and coordinate design safety activities and risk assessments
Excellent communication and documentation skills, with a practical approach to safety in design
Relevant H&S qualifications (e.g., NEBOSH Construction, IOSH Managing Safely, or equivalent)
Chartered Membership of IOSH or APS (desirable)
