Salary Grade 4 (Β£30,293 - Β£34,116) Full Time
An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Development Management Team for a Technical Planning Officer position to ensure we can build a team that will help shape our future.
East Hampshire is a beautiful district, benefiting from the South Downs National Park together with historic market towns, attractive villages and countryside. However, we face the same challenges many do in terms of where to locate new development and how to ensure there is suitable housing for everyone who needs it. Change is ongoing, we donβt want to stop change, we just want to make sure change is as positive as possible, and fair.
The opportunity would suit either a recent graduate looking to embark on their Planning career or a candidate with some experience of working within a town planning environment. The role will provide technical and administrative support for the Development Management Team as well as the processing and determination of straightforward planning applications and enquiries. The right candidate will have excellent organisational and communication skills, together with a positive outlook.
The position will comprise a hybrid style of working, as a mix of both home and office-based working. Flexible working arrangements to suit the work / life balance of the successful applicant will be considered. The Council has recently moved to new modern offices closer to Petersfield town centre and the railway station.
Please visit our website for full details of the role including role profile and benefits information.
In return for your valued contribution, we can offer you a competitive benefits package which includes hybrid and flexible working options, training and development opportunities, generous annual leave and flexi time, membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme and more.
Interviews
will be held at East Hampshire District Council Offices and are anticipated to take place during the week commencing 17th November 2025.
