The NorthEast Public Health Alliance, representing Billerica, Chelmsford, Tewksbury, and Tyngsborough, seeks a full‑time Regional Health Inspector.
The Health Inspector:
- Conducts inspections in accordance with state and local public health laws and regulations. Jurisdiction may include: housing, food establishments, tobacco permit holders, septic, swimming pools, summer camps, nuisances, body art, bodywork, and facilities that use or store hazardous materials.
- Issues various licenses and permits based on application review.
- Conducts site inspections, re‑inspections, and follow‑up as needed with evaluations of the issues involved.
- Prepares related reports and records.
- Provides additional support to ongoing preventative programs and public health efforts in collaboration with Health Department staff.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science or related discipline, and one to three years experience in an environmental or health‑related field.
- Ability to meet Massachusetts Workforce Standards within the recommended timeframe.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
Salary range is $62,000 – $75,000, commensurate with experience.
