HGV Driver/Yard Operative, Sutton Coldfield
We have a great opportunity for Yard Operative/HGV Driver to join the team at our Sutton Coldfield branch.
You will be working in the yard and warehouse to retrieve stock as well as preparing and picking orders to be loaded onto our lorries for delivery.
When required, you will also be making multi-drop deliveries of building materials around the local area in a safe and professional manner.
Person & Skills
The successful candidate will be familiar with all aspects of stock handling and have knowledge of heavy-side building materials.
Ideally you will have recent experience of driving a counterbalance and combination forklift, as well as having a valid forklift licence.
Additionally, the successful candidate will also need to hold an HGV category C license.
A HIAB/ALLMI certificate and HIAB experience, as well as Moffett experience, are all preferred.

- Overtime rates, Saturday paid at 1.5x hourly rate, weekdays at 1.25x hourly rate

- Key tasks will include
- Picking orders and serving Customers
- Stock rotation and maintenance
- Assisting with Loading / Unloading of HGV vehicles in a safe manner
- Driving an HGV Vehicle in accordance with the Delivery Schedule
- Maintaining records of journey times, mileage and hours worked
- Conducting pre-trip vehicle inspections
- Operating a Tacho-Graph in line with current legislation
- Delivering a safe, First class service to our valued trade customers and members of the public

- Participation in the Saturday Morning Rota - typically two Saturday mornings per month which are paid at on top of basic salary at a higher hourly overtime rate
