For Companies An exciting opportunity for a Yard Operative has become available at our Hemel Hempstead branch.
The Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to provide excellent customer service to our trade and retail customers. The role involves working in the yard and warehouse to retrieve stock, prepare and pick orders for loading onto delivery lorries, with a focus on bulk aggregate bagging.
Person & Skills
The successful candidate will have experience with stock handling and knowledge of heavy-side building materials. Ideally, you will have recent experience operating a counterbalance and combination forklift, with a valid forklift license.
Key Tasks
- Meet depot customer requirements consistently.
- Maintain a courteous and helpful attitude towards customers.
- Handle company paperwork according to procedures.
- Keep allocated areas clean and tidy.
- Assist with loading and unloading vehicles.
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly checks on the forklift truck, maintaining cleanliness.
- Report forklift faults immediately.
- Adhere to health and safety responsibilities professionally.
- Report stock breakages and wastage.
- Ensure goods for delivery are properly wrapped and safe for transport.
- Report stock shortages.
