Position Summary: Store Managers at E&H Ace Hardware are responsible for the complete day-to-day operation of the store. They play a pivotal role in maximizing store sales and profitability while managing expenses. This role involves ensuring optimal stock levels and merchandising, with a strong focus on providing excellent customer service. A Store Manager also contributes significantly to the growth and development of the management team and store associates.
Major Responsibilities:
- Drive Sales Performance: Ensure that all customers are acknowledged promptly, their project needs are met, and concerns are resolved efficiently to drive store sales.
- Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and develop retail staff with the goal of fostering growth and success in their positions. Provide regular performance feedback and recognize accomplishments.
- Supervision: Coordinate the overall supervision of retail staff to ensure sales performance goals are met, and procedures are accurately followed.
- Inventory Management: Regulate retail inventory to reduce shrinkage, maintain appropriate stock levels, and ensure report accuracy.
- Logistics and Inventory Flow: Direct the shipping, receiving, and inventory flow for the store, ensuring efficient operations.
- Scheduling: Forecast scheduling needs to meet customer demand and create work schedules that optimize staff resources.
- Visual Merchandising: Delegate daily workload among associates to meet merchandising and visual presentation standards, enhancing the customer shopping experience.
- Safety: Enforce safety policies and procedures and serve as a safety role model for the team.

- Driving Record and License: Possess a clean driving record and maintain a valid driver's license. This is important for any responsibilities that may involve store-related travel or transportation needs.
Minimum Requirements:
- Education/Training: High School degree, with some college preferred. Possess extensive product knowledge of hardware-related products and a strong willingness to learn.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of retail management experience, with previous retail leadership experience required.
- Skills/Knowledge: Strong leadership and analytical skills, effective communication (verbal and written), problem-solving abilities, and organizational skills. Proficiency in retail computer systems, MS Word, and Excel is a plus.
- Availability: Ability and willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet the needs of the business. Minimum required 1 closing shift and 1 weekend day each week.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for an extended period of time.
- Capability to move and handle boxes of merchandise and fixtures throughout the store, which entails lifting and performing all functions as set forth.

Candidates will be evaluated based on various factors, including:
- Available Work Schedule: The ability to work a 5-day, 50-hour per week schedule, including 1 closing shift and 1 weekend day required.
- Previous Work Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years of management experience and extensive product knowledge of hardware-related products, along with a willingness to learn.
- Physical Demands: The capability to perform lifting, carrying, bending, stooping, pulling, and pushing with repetitive lifting up to 50 pounds, with occasional lifting up to 80 pounds.
- Other Work Considerations: Strong customer and organizational skills, productivity, the ability to work with minimal supervision, task prioritization, reliability, and dependability. The candidate should also demonstrate potential for advancement within the Ace Department and be open to relocation if required.
