Due to continued growth, Eglantine Timber is seeking a motivated and customer-focused Trade Counter Assistant to join our busy and friendly team in Whiteabbey. Established for over 40 years, Eglantine Timber is a well-known, family-run business supplying timber, fencing, decking, sheds, landscaping products and building materials to trade and retail customers across Northern Ireland. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys dealing with customers, working in a fast-paced environment, and being part of a hardworking team.

The Role

  • Serving trade and retail customers in a professional and friendly manner
  • Providing product advice and helping customers select suitable materials
  • Processing sales and handling payments through the till system
  • Answering telephone and email enquiries
  • Assisting with stock control and merchandising displays
  • Supporting the yard and warehouse teams when required
  • Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience in a trade counter, builders merchant, retail or customer service role
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work well as part of a team
  • Basic computer skills
  • Experience within timber, hardware, fencing, landscaping or building materials would be advantageous but is not essential, as full training will be provided for the right candidate.

Hours
