As a Senior Buyer you will be responsible for ensuring that procurement activities are undertaken for your allocated area of responsibility, in a timely and cost-effective way and that contracts are only awarded to approved suppliers in-line with the organisations policies and procedures. In doing so you will ensure the project has a fit for purpose supply chain, which supplies fit for purpose materials, in-line with project budgets and forecast, on-time and in full, to prevent delays to project delivery. This is an integral role within the company to ensure profitability of projects is maintained.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Undertake end-to-end procurement activity, from procurement plan/strategy formation through to contract execution.
  • Manage procurement activities for allocated areas of responsibility; in doing so you will develop and maintain market/category knowledge to better inform procurement decisions.
  • Conduct negotiations with the supply chain ensuring the best possible price is achieved without compromising on quality; in doing so you will agree pricing schedules, payment terms and key contractual terms.
  • Ensure Procurement processes and procedures are followed to ensure compliance with key governance frameworks.
  • Produce required procurement documentation e.g., Procurement plans, Tender documentation and obtain approvals at the appropriate levels as aligned to governance structure.
  • Record and report savings in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Capture and contribute to lessons learned to ensuring changes are applied to the next project and or Procurement exercise.
  • Undertake procurement activities as directed for the Project.
  • Engage and communicate efficiently with internal customers and other functions as necessary in executing Procurement activities.
  • Maintain an ethical approach to tasks and relationships in accordance with relevant Anthro policies.
  • Conduct regular review meetings with the Project Managers to ensure alignment, including a review of ongoing activities.
  • Monitor Project supply chain performance.
  • Managing notification of delay to site delivery and feedback to site for any costs incurred.
  • Ensure any contractual changes are implemented and amended in the contract and any associated purchase orders.
Qualifications
  • Essential Qualification within Procurement, or equivalent.
  • Member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply.

  • Interpersonal skills at all organisational levels, internal and external.

  • The ability to work flexibly to meet project demands.
Experience:
  • Previous experience within a Senior Buyer position.
  • Experience within the construction/infrastructure industry, ideally with an M&E contractor.
