About Us

Egis is a global consulting and engineering firm working in construction, transport and mobility services. Joining our Group and its 19,000 employees means, above all, sharing our values as a people-first company, strongly committed to sustainability and innovation. As one of the world’s leading consultancy, construction engineering and operating firms, we hold ourselves responsible for today’s biggest challenges; fighting climate change, the digital transition and meeting the needs of growing populations. We do this by designing smart, green infrastructure, transport and buildings, creating a sustainable future for communities everywhere. In the UK we’re proud to be delivering some of the most iconic projects which help connect people, protect our environment and meet emission reduction targets. From motorways to tramways, nuclear power plants to smart cities, clients choose us to help them solve their most complex challenges - delivering climate-responsible growth that meets the needs of communities, industry, and the planet.

About the Role

The Egis Group has recently implemented a matrix model, introducing dual governance through the regions in addition to the Business Lines. Consequently we have moved to consolidate corporate services in the UK to serve all Business Lines, delivering both dedicated business partnering and shared services. This role forms part of the finance team in the UK, reporting to the Head of Finance Shared Services and managing the delivery of shared services across the UK. The scope of the shared services cover payables and payroll, invoicing and treasury management, and reporting and compliance. The finance function has been through a period of transformation over the past year, with entity specific finance resources being centralised into one UK finance team, and the migration onto a new ERP, Oracle. This role must now build upon that progress, and ensure that all shared service activities have the correct level of stewardship, and demonstrable SLAs are in place, and regularly communicated to key stakeholders. There is a strong emphasis on people management to ensure the successful functioning of the team. This role would be based at our London offices near Waterloo. We operate a hybrid working policy but this role would require a minimum of 3 days in the office each week.

Responsibilities:

  • Working for the UK Head of Finance Shared Services to ensure the delivery of high quality finance shared services in the UK, with inherent controls embedded in each process
  • Management and guidance of the finance shared service team
  • Working together with colleagues in other related functions, such as HR, to design and document robust end-to-end processes in line with group policy and local regulations, including the implementation of SLAs
  • Identify and implement new, innovative ways of working to deliver improvements across the finance team.
  • Budgeting and reporting activities.
  • A strong understanding of a corporate treasury function

What do we need from you?

  • Relevant experience gained through a number of previous roles, projects or programmes
  • A process improvement mindset, constantly identifying and implementing more efficient ways of operating
  • Experience of working in large complex organisations with large and geographically spread models.
  • Strong people management and communication skills.
  • Having identified and implemented new, innovative and best practice ways of working to deliver improvements.
  • Experience of reviewing whole functions and/or detailed end to end processes and delivering improvements.
  • Proven track record of leading a finance shared services function
  • Engaging and influencing senior stakeholders, effectively handling challenging relationships.
  • Experience of presenting to senior stakeholders

What’s in it for you?

  • By joining Egis, as well as receiving a competitive salary, you’ll also have the opportunity to explore flexible working arrangements.
  • Competitive salary
  • Performance related bonus
  • Pension contribution of 5% of your salary
  • Life insurance
