Our expertise extends to stations, depots, operations, maintenance analytics and asset management across all aspects of rail, including transport, technical and sustainability assessments and systems infrastructure.
The Commercial Manager will require knowledge and experience in pre and post contract management and procurement within commercial contract management in the rail and infrastructure sector. You will be expected to utilise experience and knowledge of supplier relationships and contract management to drive efficiencies in the supply chain. Working as part of projects and programmes to deliver the strategic aims of their designated portfolios. The commercial manager shall be educated to a degree standard in a related subject or Associate Member of a relevant professional institute with Chartered status. This role can be based in London. You can expect to be working on a hybrid basis with up to 3 days a week in the office.
Role Responsibilities
- Manage, monitor and report on commercial and cost reporting aspects of allocated projects and portfolio of works
- NEC contract management (NEC3/NEC4, Option A)
- EWNs, CEs, applications for payment, final accounts, AFC and COWD reporting
- Support the programme and project teams to ensure full compliance with contract and corporate governance rules
- The commercial manager will lead the on commercial review and valuation of contractor applications for payment in accordance with contractual terms and conditions and contractual entitlement
- The commercial manager will provide proactive advice and guidance on all change including proposed scope changes
- Produce appropriate commercial correspondence and contractual notices for issue in accordance with contractual conditions
- Contract administration of industry standard and bespoke forms of contract including NEC and ICC terms
- Ensure that commercial records are retained and archived properly
- Manage the final account settlements
- Support in the pre-contract procurement of suppliers/main contractors and consultants for projects and programmes
Qualifications
- Educated to degree level
- An experienced user of the NEC3-4 suite of contracts
- Experienced in controlling costs for self delivery works
- Experienced in negotiating and procuring sub-contract packages (Design-Delivery-Commission), testing the robustness of costs and value for money
- Have, or be working towards, chartership of a relevant institution
- Able to prioritise the delivery of the objectives of their role
- Site presence and co-location minimum 3 days a week
- You must have the right to work in the UK
