About the Role
We are now seeking an experienced Civil Engineering Manager to lead our Civil Engineering stream in New Zealand, providing strong operational, technical and people leadership while driving business performance and client outcomes. You will be responsible for:
- Leading and managing the New Zealand Civil Engineering discipline, providing strong operational, technical and people leadership
- Allocating and managing resources to meet project demands, optimise utilisation and deliver business outcomes
- Providing technical leadership across the full project lifecycle, ensuring high-quality, compliant and innovative solutions
- Overseeing the planning, delivery and financial performance of significant projects within the discipline
- Driving a proactive business development culture, supporting bids, promoting team capabilities and strengthening client relationships
- Ensuring consistent project delivery excellence, including quality, safety, cost and schedule performance
- Engaging, motivating and developing team members through coaching, feedback and performance leadership
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders and other regions to support efficient, integrated service delivery
- Monitoring market trends and discipline performance, providing insights and updates to the Director – Engineering NZ
- Championing safety, inclusion and a positive team culture where people feel supported and empowered.
What do we need from you
- Minimum 15 years’ post-graduate professional experience in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
- Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status with Engineering New Zealand
- Bachelor of Engineering (minimum 4-year degree) accredited by a recognised national engineering body at Professional Engineer level
- Demonstrated experience leading and managing engineering teams, including resource planning and budget management
- Proven design and project management experience in roads, three waters, earthworks, and utilities
- Recognised tertiary qualification relevant to the discipline
- Flexibility to work outside standard business hours from time to time to support international time zones and collaboration.
