Egis is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Snr. Cost Manager to manage the Application for Payment process on the Midland Metro Alliance. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with extensive experience in cost control, finance contract management, and commercial strategy within complex transport or infrastructure programmes. This role requires a professional who thrives in a dynamic environment, can work autonomously, and has a proven track record of delivering value through strong commercial leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake cost estimating, benchmarking, and value engineering exercises.
- Manage change control, schedule of rates, and Application for Payment.
- Follow up all outstanding cost invoices and employee expenses.
- Maintain relationship with the Joint Venture Partners, being the point of contact for all queries.
- Manage and keep the timesheet system updated and ensure your assistant commercial manager chases up outstanding timesheets.
- Manage key stakeholders and cost information.
- Assist with the provision of information for the annual audit.
Qualifications & Skills
Essential
- Extensive experience in commercial management within the rail, light rail, or major infrastructure sector.
- Strong understanding of cost planning, estimation, and contract administration.
- Proven ability to work independently and drive progress without supervision.
- Advanced capability in cost reporting, forecasting, and value management.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and leadership skills.
Desirable
- Chartered status (MRICS, MCInstCES, or equivalent).
- Experience within design-and-build environments.
- Understanding of Value Engineering and whole-life cost analysis.
Educational Requirements
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or Civil Engineering.
- Professional accreditation preferred (RICS, ICES, or equivalent).
