Eggleston Steel Ltd is looking to recruit a full‑time Tube Laser / Flat Bed Laser Operator to join our night shift warehouse team based in Derby. This is a permanent night shift position working Sunday to Thursday. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating laser cutting machinery safely and efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality and productivity within a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities- Operating tube laser and flat bed laser machinery
- Loading and unloading materials safely
- Monitoring machine performance and production quality
- Carrying out routine machine checks and basic maintenance
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised working environment
- Working collaboratively with the wider team to meet deadlines and targets
- Performing other tasks associated with the Warehouse Operative role
- Experience within the steel industry is advantageous, although full training will be provided for the right candidate
- Experience operating laser cutting machinery preferred
- Good knowledge of engineering drawings
- A strong team player who can also work independently
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attitude towards quality and accuracy
- Good mathematics and numeracy skills
- Ability to work safely and accurately with minimal supervision
- Highly motivated and reliable
- Experience using overhead cranes is advantageous (training can be provided)
- Forklift licence/training advantageous (training can be provided)
- Initial 3-month probationary period
- Competitive rates of pay
- Overtime paid at time and a half
- 33 days paid holiday including bank holidays
